Calls from Israel to Strike Iranian Oil Fields
The leader of the Israeli opposition and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid believes that the target of any Israeli retaliatory strike against Iran should be its oil fields, which would severely impact the Iranian economy.
"We need to start with the oil fields," Lapid said in an interview with the Jerusalem Post. "I do not agree with the American administration. I do not think this will significantly raise oil prices in the world just five minutes before the elections," he added.
The leader of the Yesh Atid party emphasized that Iranian oil exports have already been "cut in half," but this has not led to a global economic crisis. He believes that a strike on Iranian oil fields would cause considerable damage to Iran's economy.
To avoid a global economic crisis afterward, Lapid suggested turning to other oil-producing countries, such as Saudi Arabia, to increase oil production.
