Video: Heated Argument Between Kocharyan and Kyaramyan

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Argisht Kyaramyan, sought to respond to the criticism from the ruling Civil Contract party but was not allowed to do so by the Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee, Andranik Kocharyan. "Then I will not participate in this discussion," Kyaramyan stated. Kocharyan replied, "It is your issue. You analyze what happened."

It should be noted that a scandal broke out earlier in the National Assembly, leading to a heated argument, and there was almost a physical altercation between Civil Contract MP Hovik Aghazaryan and Arghisht Kyaramyan. "There is no one on the face of this earth who can let any remark pass regarding what I said," the Chairman of the Investigative Committee responded to MP Hovik Aghazaryan's statement, which argued that detention should not be used as a means of pressure.

“When we say that detention is being used as a means of pressure, we are not speaking out of turn; we know something, we have heard something,” Aghazaryan mentioned during the parliamentary hearings.

“It’s unfortunate that Mr. Kyaramyan left. He even tried to exert pressure on me through a well-known person. The pressure was that Mr. Aghazaryan is very interested in this case. This individual said that Mr. Aghazaryan is interested in all matters; no, he said he is especially interested in this matter. Mr. Kyaramyan, I have been an MP for 200 years; the whole world knows about my assets. You respond here politely to Levon Kocharyan's question, who has a lot of businesses, and his brother also has numerous businesses. We eliminate those budding businesses from the very start so they do not grow up to be Levon Kocharyans. How right is that? It is not right.”

“Mr. Kyaramyan, I have nothing personal against you. When we say that investigative actions cannot be carried out while fluttering the car keys around like at a sports venue, we are not saying it in vain. That is a form of pressure,” he said.
