Russia Requests Electricity from Azerbaijan and Georgia
Russia has approached Azerbaijan and Georgia with a request to receive 300 MW of electricity from each country in the event of a possible emergency situation. This was reported by Kommersant.ru.
Alexandra Panina, a member of the board of "Inter RAO," spoke about the plans to import electricity from Azerbaijan and Georgia in test mode during emergencies. The request involves 300 MW from each country.
“If there are emergencies, we will, at the request of the system operator, turn to both energy systems—Georgia and Azerbaijan—asking them to be prepared to supply us with 300 MW each,” said Panina.
Panina clarified that the company has not yet received responses from Georgia and Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, Russia will attempt to resolve the issue without importing electricity.
