Armenian Side Decides Not to Continue Brussels Process: Aliyev

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, deemed Yerevan's proposal to sign a peace treaty half-finished as strange during a meeting with the new Belgian ambassador, Julien de Freypo, in Baku, according to the state's press service.

Commenting on the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, he stated that Brussels was the venue where negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan were progressing successfully with the support of Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, and significant progress had indeed been achieved there.

"But sadly, the Armenian side has decided not to continue this process known as the 'Brussels process.' However, it was still a positive process that yielded very good results and experience," said Aliyev.

Previously, while speaking at the CIS summit in Moscow, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan in October based on already agreed points and to continue working on all remaining issues.
