UN Peacekeepers Report Serious Border Violation by Israeli Forces
UN peacekeepers in Lebanon have reported a serious violation of the border by Israeli forces. According to the statement, "UN peacekeepers in Lebanon witnessed a serious violation by Israeli forces on Sunday, when three Israeli units crossed the Blue Line and entered Lebanese territory near the village of Ramya."
The UN peacekeeping mission noted in its statement that two Israeli tanks had intruded into peacekeeper positions, damaging infrastructure. According to the UN report, just one day earlier, Israeli forces had "blocked a critical logistical operation."
It is worth reminding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had requested UN Secretary-General António Guterres to withdraw peacekeepers from the combat zone in Lebanon.
