Fiery and Aggressive: Petrokov's Expectation for Tomorrow's Clash
The Armenian national football team owes it to its fans and will do everything to achieve revenge in tomorrow's match. This was stated by the team's head coach, Alexander Petrokov, during the pre-match press conference preceding the game against North Macedonia.
On September 11, Armenia suffered a 2:0 defeat to North Macedonia in the first round of the Nations League (League C, Group 4) away from home.
“I want the boys to be aggressive on the field, a bit more passionate and 'angry.' I have even discussed this with the players. They simply weren't themselves,” the coach said.
He noted that the defeat on the opponent's home turf was the result of a poor performance by the Armenian team, but he hopes to achieve success in the return match on October 13.
Referring to the game against the Faroe Islands team, Petrokov said that dedication alone was not enough to secure a victory. “In many cases, individual skill was lacking. That is why we have several scoring opportunities but fail to utilize them, while high-level teams take advantage of such chances and punish the opponent,” the coach added.
