VIDEO: A Stranger Attempts to Set Fire to a Cinema in Germany

In Germany, police have opened fire on a man attempting to set a cinema on fire. This was reported by Bild.

According to media sources, the assailant, described as having an Arab appearance, attacked cinema-goers with a hammer and Molotov cocktails. The incident took place in the city of Krefeld. It has been reported that the perpetrator sustained serious injuries.

Before the attack, the man threw flammable substances at a building belonging to the Federal Employment Agency. He also set fire to a car parked nearby and then concealed himself.

The stranger was later spotted near the Cinemaxx cinema. He threw three bottles of flammable substances towards the building and then attempted to enter. He was stopped by the police.

The media notes that law enforcement officers opened fire. The man is currently in the hospital. No further details about the incident or other victims have been reported.
