Video: Nearly 1.6 Million Left Without Power in São Paulo Due to Storm, Fatalities Reported
On Saturday, approximately 1.6 million people in São Paulo, Brazil, were left without electricity due to a powerful storm that hit the city the previous day, as reported by the Associated Press.
It was noted that strong winds reached speeds of 108 km/h on Friday evening, causing trees and power lines to fall. The severe weather also led to the closure of several airports and disruptions in water supply across various neighborhoods.
City officials are urging residents to limit their water usage. At least five people have died due to the inclement weather in São Paulo and its surroundings.
São Paulo is the largest city in South America, home to approximately 21 million residents.
