Robert Kocharian in Court
Former President of Armenia Robert Kocharian is in court. The trial involving him, former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan continues at the Anti-Corruption Court.
At the beginning of the session, Robert Kocharian stated that he had been notified as an accused, and requested clarification on what charges were being brought against him. According to him, he came to court to demonstrate good will.
“I came here showing good will. In essence, I could have completely avoided coming here. I came with one goal – to show that they should not think I am afraid to come to court. After all, how many years have I been in touch with courts? I could have come and sat not here, but over there,” Robert Kocharian said in his statement to the court.
Subsequently, Kocharian left the allocated area for defendants and sat in the hall next to his son, Levon Kocharian. “I am not leaving the hall, but rather this part,” he remarked.
It is also worth noting that before the trial began, when asked by journalists whether he was worried about the possibility of being arrested again, Kocharian responded, “We will live and see.”
