Israel Strikes UN Peacekeepers, Casualties Reported
Two UN peacekeepers have been injured following an Israeli strike on a Lebanese base. According to reports from RIA Novosti, two soldiers from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon were injured during gunfire in the central deployment area of the peacekeepers.
Israel targeted a region in Lebanon, hitting the entrance to the 'Blue Helmets' camp, and Israeli tanks were observed nearby. The tanks fired close to a Lebanese Army outpost, resulting in injuries to two UN soldiers.
Additionally, Israeli military forces shelled the entrance to a bunker in the Labbuna area where peacekeepers were located. Patrol vehicles and the power supply and communication systems were also damaged. The press service of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon emphasized that any deliberate attack on peacekeepers constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
