Proposed Changes by Zhanna Andreasyan
The government made changes to the voluntary certification process for teachers during its meeting today, October 10. Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, presented the project and noted, “It was a significant issue for us that the voluntary certification was conducted in paper format, which created numerous complications and time-related issues for teachers. With this proposed change, we are introducing an electronic format for certification, meaning that teachers will be able to participate in the certification process entirely electronically.
This will also serve as an additional means to encourage teachers to utilize information technology skills. The teacher will see the number of correct and incorrect answers on their test, how many questions they answered correctly, and how many incorrectly.” She mentioned that the acceptance of applications has already concluded: “More than 6,000 teachers and citizens qualified as educators have applied.” The first certification process will commence on November 9.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that teachers will still need to come to the examination center, but they will respond to questions on a computer screen. Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that this system allows for the generation of a unique test for each teacher, meaning that the test does not repeat. Nikol Pashinyan responded by saying, “There are circulating rumors that the correct answer to the third question is option four. However, the correct answer to the third question is not always option four.”
