Body Transported to Field, Burned, and Buried

The body of a resident of Stepanavan, who was murdered on July 9, has been discovered after being sought for a long time. Four individuals have been arrested.

Within the framework of the criminal proceedings conducted by the Lori Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, a murder that occurred on the night of July 9 to 10, 2024, in the Lori Fortress community of the Lori region has been clarified through systematic and tactically targeted organized actions.

It has been revealed that on the specified date, three friends, including one minor, along with the latter’s brother, were in one of the houses in the Lori Fortress settlement, where during an argument over personal matters, they unlawfully deprived H. Mahakyan, a resident of Stepanavan, of his life, committing murder while complementing each other's actions.

Afterward, they transported the body in an “OPEL VECTRA” car and concealed it in another location. As a result of extensive investigative actions, it was established that the body was moved to a nearby field in Stepanavan, where they burned it and buried it. The body was discovered on October 9.

Charges have been filed against three of the mentioned individuals under Part 2, Article 155, point 8 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, while the minor has been charged under Part 1, Article 155. Pre-trial detention has been chosen as a measure of restraint against the mentioned individuals.
