Next Week Will Be Historic: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that reliable peace and lasting security can only be guaranteed based on international law and without any trade-offs of sovereignty or territory. He noted that such reliable peace is intended within the framework of a 'peace formula,' which will enable progress towards a victory plan.
'Ukraine needs peace—a real, just, and guaranteed protection from war. This is only possible from a strong position. And only when both our people and our partners are truly united,' emphasized Zelensky.
The president added that next week would be 'historic in many ways,' referring to the 25th meeting scheduled for October 12 in the 'Ramstein' format.
'Everything outlined in the victory plan is entirely real for our partners. The world possesses this resource for reinforcement, which will allow us to advance with the 'peace formula',' said Zelensky.
The Ukrainian president's statement, which condemned the 'trade of territories,' came after the American Financial Times published an article discussing the consideration of the 'German model' for ending the war in Ukraine within Western foreign policy circles. This model suggests that Ukraine would be offered NATO membership without the occupied territories, which it would have to agree to return through diplomatic means.
