Connection Lost with New Hezbollah Leader
Connection has been lost with Hashem Safi al-Din, a potential successor to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, following Israeli strikes, according to Reuters.
This development came after continued Israeli bombardments in Beirut, which are hindering search operations in areas affected by the attacks.
According to the agency, Israel has targeted a Hezbollah bunker where Safi al-Din may have been located. At this moment, rescue teams are unable to reach the alleged location of al-Din due to significant damage and ongoing strikes.
Al Arabiya also reported that the new Hezbollah leader Hashem Safi al-Din has died as a result of an Israeli strike. Since Friday, contact has been lost with him.
It is worth noting that Israeli strikes continue to hit key targets in Lebanon's capital, raising serious concerns about the safety of Hezbollah leaders and members, as well as impeding the swift execution of rescue operations.
