Residents of Lebanon Left 'Under Open Sky'

The majority of the 900 shelters in Lebanon for internally displaced persons can no longer accommodate people, UN High Commissioner for Refugees representative Rula Amin reported on Friday.

“Most of the collective shelters built by Lebanese authorities are no longer able to house people,” she stated, noting that an increasing number of people fleeing Israeli strikes are sleeping under the open sky.

“UNHCR is concerned that as winter approaches, the living conditions for people affected by escalating conflicts in other countries will only worsen,” she added.
