Aliyev Accuses Armenia

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has stated that France and similar Western countries are doing everything to ensure the occupation remains eternal. "Armenia has violated all norms and principles of international law, occupied about 20 percent of our lands, implemented a policy of ethnic cleansing, carried out the Khojaly massacre, and destroyed all our towns and villages. Has any official representative of a Western country at least once addressed them? No," said Aliyev.

According to Aliyev, the Minsk Group has been covering up these matters, to some extent justifying the Armenian occupation and pushing Azerbaijan towards a humiliating peace. "When we raised our just voice on all international platforms, we were told that our words were too sharp. We need to raise our voice on international platforms. This sharp rhetoric does not bring the world closer; rather, it distances it. There is no military solution to this conflict. In other words, France and similar Western countries are doing everything to prolong this occupation," noted Aliyev.
