Armenia Begins Process to Purchase 84 More Artillery Systems: IDRW

The Armenian armed forces have completed the testing of six ATAGS 155 mm/52 caliber artillery systems supplied by India. This was reported by the Indian Defence Research Wing (IDRW), a specialized website.

According to sources from the site, the artillery system has passed all operational tests conducted in various locations across the country. It is noted that the batch of six ATAGS 155 mm/52 artillery systems was programmed in Armenian at the request of the Armenian side.

“Additionally, several other modifications were made to adapt the artillery systems to the specific requirements of the Armenian armed forces. Although the artillery systems were initially tested in India, they had not been tested under Armenian conditions for a long time,” the site reports.

According to sources from the site, the successful completion of these tests has allowed Armenia to begin the process of purchasing an additional 84 ATAGS artillery systems from the Indian manufacturer, Kalyani Groups.

The acquisition of ATAGS artillery systems will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Armenian army and provide the much-needed increase in its artillery firepower. These modern weapons will prove invaluable in protecting the country's borders and ensuring its national security,” notes the IDRW source.
