Video and Photo Recording Devices Installed
The Road Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that due to numerous violations of traffic safety legislation, which lead to congestion and emergency situations, as well as the lack of monitoring of adherence to the maximum speed limits by photographic technical means, favorable conditions are created for many drivers to exceed speed limits, contributing to emergency situations.
In accordance with Article 22 of the Law on the Police of the Republic of Armenia, video recording devices have been transferred from other locations and installed on Abovyan Street near the "Heratsi" Hospital Complex in Yerevan, next to a functioning traffic light for pedestrians. Additionally, a photo recording device has been installed on the new Silikian highway in Yerevan, after the pedestrian traffic light, heading toward the North-South highway, where the maximum speed limit is 60 km/h.
The video and photo recording devices will be operational starting from October 7. The Road Police urges drivers to adhere to traffic regulations.
