Simplified Rules for Those Traveling to Iran by Car

The Deputy Director of the Aras Free Economic Zone has announced that with Armenia's accession to the Carnet de Passages convention, the issue of entering Iran with Armenian license plates is now resolved. He emphasized that allowing Armenian-registered vehicles to enter Iran will boost tourism.

The Iranian Consul General in Kapan, Abedin Varamineh, stated that this issue has always caused dissatisfaction on the Armenian side, as they had to pay significant amounts to enter Iran with their own vehicles.

Karen Balayan, an advisor to the Governor of Syunik, highlighted that easing entry will encourage Armenian tourists to visit Iran, especially the Aras Free Economic Zone.
