Israel Notifies US of Plans to Launch Ground Operation in Lebanon

Israeli authorities have notified the United States that they plan to conduct a limited ground operation in Lebanon and may initiate it soon. According to information provided by RIA Novosti, this was reported by the Washington Post citing an American official.

It is noted that the planned campaign by Israel will be smaller in scale than the last war against Hezbollah in 2006 and will focus on neutralizing the militant infrastructure along the border to eliminate the threats facing Israeli border communities.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that Israel could carry out a ground incursion into Lebanon this week.
