Iran is Being Drawn into War, Says Lavrov

Several countries are attempting to draw Iran into the Middle Eastern conflict in order to provoke a major war there. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following his participation in the high-level week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

“Great attention was paid (during the meetings that took place during the session) to Middle Eastern issues, the recent flare-ups of conflict in Palestinian territories, Lebanon, Syria, as well as issues in Iraqi territory. The attempts to involve Iran were also discussed, aimed at provoking a major war in the Middle East,” he said.
