Armenia and Iran Discuss Technical Issues for the Construction of a Second Bridge over the Araks
Armenia and Iran are discussing the technical issues related to the construction of a second bridge over the Araks River, as confirmed by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
"The technical issues regarding the construction of the second bridge over the Araks River between Armenia and Iran are currently under discussion," the agency stated.
It is worth reminding that in May, it was reported that Armenia and Iran would establish a working group for the construction of the bridge. The project for the construction of a new bridge over the Araks River began in late 2023. In Yerevan, it has not been ruled out that the new bridge may be built alongside the existing one. The existing bridge was constructed in 1995.
