Ankara is striving to gain permanent member status in the UN Security Council. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to Anadolu Agency.
“Turkey aims to become a permanent member (of the UN Security Council), but has not yet achieved any results in this regard,” he stated in a conversation with reporters after Friday prayers in Istanbul.
At the same time, Erdogan noted that the current permanent members of the Security Council are not providing support for Turkey's aspirations in this direction. It is worth mentioning that the permanent members of the UN Security Council include the United Kingdom, China, Russia, the United States, and France.
