Criminal Case Initiated Against Tigran Arzakantsyan

A criminal case has been initiated against former Member of Parliament and leader of the "Power of the Homeland" party, Tigran Arzakantsyan, on charges of false denunciation.

The Investigative Committee confirmed the news to Radar Armenia, without providing further details.

It should be noted that according to Shamshyan.com, Tigran Arzakantsyan, through his representative, reported that 59-year-old Smbat Nasibyan, a resident of Yerevan, caused him property damage through deception during the years 2009-2011.

According to the report, on March 7, 2022, T. Arzakantsyan submitted a claim stating that based on the trust established regarding the amounts of loans provided by S. Nasibyan from 2009-2012 and their repayment, a loan agreement worth $4.35 million was signed between him and S. Nasibyan on April 16, 2013, with shares worth $15.6 million pledged as collateral. However, under the condition of not providing the loan amount, he applied to the arbitration court in October 2013, providing false data through deception.

On October 10, 2013, he received a court ruling based on which he fraudulently registered 20% of the shares of the company that was the collateral in his name in 2014. On December 30, 2021, he applied to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, attempting to fraudulently seize $4.35 million in non-existent debt penalties based on the agreement dated April 13, 2013, and tried to deceitfully take $2.552 million through the court action, thereby committing false denunciation against S. Nasibyan.
