Announcement: Trump Agrees to Meet Zelensky at His Tower in New York
The Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced that he will meet with Vladimir Zelensky at Trump Tower in New York on Friday morning.
The politician posted Zelensky's letter on his ‘Truth Social’ account, in which the Ukrainian leader requested a meeting, addressing Trump as “Dear Donald.”
“As you know, President Zelensky has requested a meeting with me, and I will meet with him tomorrow morning around 9:45 AM (Moscow time 4:45 PM),” Trump stated during a press conference.
At the same time, Trump sarcastically remarked, in response to a journalist who noted that Zelensky accused him of not understanding the Ukrainian conflict, that he would need to cancel the meeting immediately.
Earlier, Time magazine reported that Zelensky's team did not agree to meet Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence, as it could be interpreted as an endorsement of his candidacy.
