VIDEO: Before Leaving Artsakh, a Resident of Chardakhlu Shatters Her Years of Collected Precious Dishes
Armenian photographer Edgar Kamalyan has shared a video captured on the last day of forcibly leaving Artsakh. He wrote alongside the video: "My mom, Lyuda Kamalyan, is a big fan of beautiful and valuable dishes. In one large room of our two-story house in Chardakhlu, it was filled with her glass and porcelain items, which she had been collecting since the early 1980s. Last year, on this day, we were supposed to leave our home, Chardakhlu, and Artsakh... Like all of us, my mom didn’t want to leave her home. She sat there, sad and gloomy. I thought that maybe releasing a wave of anger would ease her emotions a bit and suggested going up to the second floor to see her favorite pieces of dishware. My mom looked at me in confusion, not guessing why I brought her there. I took the first plate and handed it to her, saying to break it. After that, it was impossible to stop her... I am sharing this video with her permission."
