All Thermal Power Plants Destroyed in Ukraine, Says Zelensky

All thermal power plants (TPPs) and some hydropower plants in Ukraine have been destroyed. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on September 25.

“As of today, all our TPPs and the vast majority of our hydropower capacities have been obliterated,” Zelensky stated, with his speech broadcast on the UN audiovisual service website.

He added that approximately 80% of the country's electricity generation infrastructure has been destroyed. Zelensky called for continued support from Ukraine's allies.
