Russia's Position on Regional Issues with Iran Has Not Changed, Shoigu
The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoigu, met with the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and conveyed a message from Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported by IRIB.
The meeting took place in Tehran. Shoigu also provided the Iranian leader with a report on the agreements reached.
According to the Russian service of Pars Today, during the meeting, the Iranian president stated that the 14th government of Iran would seriously monitor the ongoing cooperation and initiatives aimed at improving the level of relations between the two countries.
“The deepening and strengthening of relations and cooperation between Iran and Russia reduces the effectiveness of sanctions and unjust measures against both countries,” the Iranian president remarked. He noted that relations between Tehran and Moscow will continuously and steadily develop.
In turn, Sergey Shoigu emphasized that Russia's position on cooperation with Iran regarding regional issues has not changed. He mentioned that Vladimir Putin is eagerly awaiting his meeting with the Iranian president during the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan, Russia.
