Video: Municipality Announces Start Date for New Ticketing System in Public Transport

The new unified ticketing system implemented in public transport will be fully operational starting January 1. Various payment methods will be offered, including paper single-use tickets with QR codes, a mobile app, and permanent-use bus and bank cards.

The unified system will also apply to the Yerevan metro. After the complete implementation of the ticketing system, the community will eliminate token-based services.

In parallel with the payment reforms, the number of vehicles will also increase. Yerevan will acquire 171 new buses, while old and worn-out buses will be removed from the routes, and some private routes will be serviced by the municipality.
