Jordan Will Never Accept the Idea of Forcibly Displacing Palestinians

Jordan will never accept the idea of forcibly relocating Palestinians to the kingdom, as it constitutes a war crime, said Jordan's King Abdullah II while addressing the UN General Assembly in New York.

Earlier in August, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the Jordanian king held a phone conversation during which they agreed on the unacceptability of expelling Palestinians from the West Bank.

"This concerns those who continue to promote the idea of Jordan as an alternative homeland for Palestinians. Therefore, let me be very clear: this will never happen. We will never accept the forced displacement of Palestinians; it is a war crime," he stated, addressing participants at the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly.

It is noteworthy that the 79th session of the UN General Assembly's High-Level Week commenced on Tuesday in New York, attended by several hundred heads of state and foreign ministers. Over the course of five days, delegations from various countries around the world will discuss issues of global significance, including international security, conflict prevention and resolution, climate change mitigation, socio-economic problems, and several other concerns.
