We Will Do Everything to Prevent War from Escalating: Biden
The United States will do everything possible to prevent the conflict in the Middle East from escalating into a full-scale war. This was stated by U.S. President Joe Biden during a press briefing at the White House.
Biden expressed concern about the increasing tensions in the region. "Yes, I am worried, and we will do everything we can to prevent war from escalating, and we will continue to strive for that," he said.
It is worth noting that the situation in the Middle East sharply deteriorated on October 7, 2023, following an infiltration of armed members of the Palestinian Hamas movement into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, which was accompanied by the killing of residents in border communities and the taking of 250 hostages. The radicals labeled this attack a response to actions by Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and began retaliatory strikes against certain areas of Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, after which a ground operation commenced in the Palestinian enclave.
