The statements made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg regarding Russia's inability to respond to Ukrainian armed forces' permissions to strike deep within Russia with Western weapons are irresponsible, as he will soon leave his position. This opinion was expressed by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia, in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

“He is a departing man; he will soon stop working where he has worked, which is why he allows himself to make such irresponsible statements,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Stoltenberg stated that a decision to strike Russia with Western weapons will not become a red line that could drag the alliance into direct conflict with Russia. He reminded that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already declared “red lines” multiple times, and he has not escalated, referring also to the direct involvement of NATO allies in the conflict.
