Lebanese Prime Minister Cancels UN General Assembly Trip Due to Crisis with Israel
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has canceled his trip to New York for the UN General Assembly due to rising tensions between his country and Israel, according to Times of Israel.
The Prime Minister explained that this decision was made "considering the developments related to Israeli aggression in Lebanon." Israel has intensified its attacks against the Lebanese Hezbollah group this week, calling it a priority.
Prior to this, since October 2023, the Gaza Strip had been considered the primary theater for Israeli military operations.
Global leaders are expected to begin their speeches at the UN General Assembly next Tuesday.
