Driver Responsible for the Deaths of a Couple and Their 7-Year-Old Son Has Surrendered to the Police
In the Shirak province, the driver of the "BMW X3" involved in the fatal car accident that claimed the lives of a young couple and their 7-year-old son has been identified as 41-year-old Armen Tonoyan, a resident of Shirak province. This was reported by shamshyan.com.
As a result of the accident, Napoleon Mkrtchyan and his wife, 31-year-old Nazeni Shmoyan, died at the scene, while their 7-year-old son, Davit Mkrtchyan, was transported to the Austrian hospital "Mother and Child" in Gyumri in extremely critical condition, where he passed away without regaining consciousness.
Following the accident, the driver of the "BMW X3" fled to Georgia. On July 31, a search warrant was issued for him.
According to sources, police, confident of the suspect's location, carried out explanatory work, resulting in Armen Tonoyan surrendering to the Achuian police department today.
It is noted that Tonoyan will be transferred to the relevant institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
It is recalled that earlier reports indicated that on July 26, around 01:30, a collision occurred between the vehicles driven by Armen Tonoyan and 31-year-old Napoleon Mkrtchyan on the 15 km section of the Gyumri-Vanadzor highway, at the turns of Jajur.
