Poland's Foreign Minister Proposes Transferring Crimea to UN Control
Poland's Foreign Minister has proposed to place Crimea under United Nations control. Radoslaw Sikorski made this initiative during the 'Yalta International Conference on Strategies' in Kyiv, attended by Ukrainian and European political figures, as reported by the publication 'Strana'. He stated that he does not see a resolution to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict without the 'demilitarization' of Crimea.
"We can place it (Crimea) under a UN mandate with a mission to prepare for a fair referendum to verify who the legitimate residents are. ... And we could postpone it for 20 years," Sikorski said.
The Head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andriy Yermak, stated in a Telegram channel that "Crimea is Ukraine," while emphasizing that Russia has "violated international law and must bear responsibility for it."
