Jean-Noel Barrot Nominated for France's Minister of Foreign Affairs
French Prime Minister Michel Barnier has proposed the candidacy of Jean-Noel Barrot for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, reports Le Figaro. According to him, Barnier presented the candidates for government positions to President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
Specifically, he suggested that Sébastien Lecornu remain in his role as head of the French Ministry of Defense. The President is expected to officially approve these candidates.
Barrot, 41, currently serves as the Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee and as the Minister Delegate for European Affairs. It is anticipated that both Macron's supporters and several representatives from the center-right will be included in the new French government.
