Ararat Mirzoyan and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Hakim Discuss Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations

On September 19, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Hakim, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides discussed bilateral agenda items as well as regional issues. Both emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts aimed at developing a new stage in the bilateral relations between Armenia and the United States, specifically focusing on the advancement of strategic partnership and outlining upcoming programs.

Minister Mirzoyan noted, “The relations between our countries have been developing with intense dynamics lately, enriched with new content built on the foundation of strategic dialogue, and we are interested in continuing active cooperation across various domains.”

In the context of regional matters, Mirzoyan and Hakim addressed issues related to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The head of Armenia's foreign policy emphasized the significance of avoiding artificial obstacles on the path to signing the peace treaty developed after two years of negotiations, aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia's interest in the unblocking of regional communications based on well-known principles.
