“I agree that our drainage system is quite old and worn out, and there is a significant need for investment there. This week we have a discussion in the government specifically on that topic,” said Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a procedural meeting of the city council.

He also added that investments in this area only began two years ago. “This system is not under our control; it is only in the past two years that we have started making investments in the system. For two years now, the city of Yerevan has been constructing sewage systems. But we must also consider that these are not ordinary floods, and similar issues arise in various cities around the world,” he stated.
