Armenia's Men's Chess Team Wins in 6th Round
In the 6th round of the World Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary, Armenia's team faced off against the Philippines, securing a victory with a score of 2.5:1.5.
Hayk M. Martirosyan (2667) suffered a defeat with black pieces, while Shant Sargsyan (2649) and Robert Hovhannisyan (2619) achieved victories with white. Gabriel Sargsyan (2646) earned half a point.
In the first five rounds, Armenia had triumphed over Malta (4:0), Andorra (3:1), Brazil (3:1), and Sweden (2.5:1.5), while losing to China (1.5:2.5).
The Philippine team had victories against Aruba (4:0), Madagascar (3.5:0.5), Monaco (4:0), and Slovenia (2.5:1.5), with a loss to Germany (1:3).
The Olympiad will feature 11 rounds in total. A rest day is scheduled for September 17.
