All Wells Will Be Demolished Today: Kamo Areyan

Kamo Areyan, an advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan, stated that the city has an incomplete and inadequately constructed drainage system, necessitating serious reconstruction.

“In many areas, the capacity is no longer sufficient. The pumps in the Vardanants underground passage were just replaced; a pumping system operates there, as it does in many underground passages. During these floods, there were significant blockages. All consequences have been addressed, and all passages have been cleared. Today, all wells will be demolished, and the pumps that were clogged with debris will be cleaned. But the main reason is our lack of capacity, its inadequate construction, which no longer meets the city's needs,” he said during a municipal operational consultation.
