Students of ‘Posi’ School Will Not Attend Classes Again on Monday
Classes at the ‘Posi’ school, officially known as Hakob Oshakan School in Yerevan, will continue to be held remotely. At the beginning of this week, tremors were felt in the building, leading the school principal, Gayane Mkrtchyan, to alert the Rescue Service and Yerevan City Hall, deciding to evacuate the students.
On September 11, ‘Auroranews’ visited Hakob Oshakan School to assess the situation on-site. At the time of our visit, a geological expert team from Yerevan City Hall was working on-site to determine the issues.
Gayane Mkrtchyan expressed hope in an interview with ‘Auroranews’ that the geological group’s conclusions would be ready by the end of the week and that the children would return to school on Monday. However, Haik Kostenyan, spokesperson for the Yerevan Mayor, informed ‘Auroranews’ that the geological conclusion is not yet ready, and classes will again be held remotely on Monday.
