Turkey Does Not Decide for Us, Says Cyprus President
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has condemned the defense cooperation roadmap signed between the United States and Cyprus, stating that this step jeopardizes the security of the Turkish side of Cyprus. This information was reported by ermenihaber.am.
In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized that such actions undermine the neutrality of the United States towards Cyprus and complicate the fair resolution of the long-standing Cyprus issue.
Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, condemning Turkey's reaction, asserted: “Turkey does not decide for us. Our decisions are not a reaction to Turkey's actions or inactions. What is important is that the United States recognizes the special role of the Republic of Cyprus in terms of geostrategic significance.”
