Photo: Substance resembling drugs and pills found with prison nurse

Employees of the Operational Department of the Central Apparatus of the Penitentiary Service of the RA Ministry of Justice received information that nurse N.M. from the "Penitentiary Hospital" subdivision of the Healthcare Ministry's "Center for Penitentiary Medicine" was planning to smuggle drugs to an incarcerated individual.

Acting on the operational intelligence, on September 12 at around 09:35, officers from the same department, together with the security personnel of the "Penitentiary Hospital" correctional facility, searched N.M.'s personal belongings. From her phone case, they discovered a factory-made kitchen knife and an electronic cigarette.

Using a security X-ray device, the officers found within the electronic cigarette a greenish, plant-like substance weighing 23.36 grams, resembling narcotics, along with 25 pills marked "AN 627". N.M. was arrested by operational officers and presented to the RA Anti-Corruption Committee along with the findings.
