Belarusian President Lukashenko Blames Armenia's Leadership for Recent Events in Nagorno-Karabakh

The blame for the events that have taken place in Nagorno-Karabakh in recent years lies with Armenia's leadership. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, as reported by TASS.

"What happened in Karabakh is solely the fault of Armenia's leadership. I personally warned the Armenian authorities to hand over those territories to Azerbaijan. Especially since you admitted that they are not 'your territories.' But they said, 'we won't give them up, we will fight,'" said Lukashenko.

He added, "Later I asked Putin, and together we began asking Pashinyan: 'Resolve this issue.' Pashinyan responded that they would fight. 'They fought.' So why now be upset with Russia or us? Pashinyan, you yourself admitted that Karabakh is considered Azerbaijani territory," Lukashenko declared.

"Who are you to be upset with? Well, I’m saying, it seems our 'friend' is to the south. You are leading an ancient civilization, an ancient country. But now, you see, you wanted to go to the West, to the EU," he said.

Lukashenko also called for a peaceful resolution of the issue between Yerevan and Baku.
