Tajikistan's Chief Mufti Stabbed in Dushanbe
The head of the Council of Ulema of Tajikistan, Saidmukarram Abdukodirzoda, has been stabbed near the central mosque in Dushanbe. The assailant has been arrested. This was reported by the press center of the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to TASS.
The report states that a criminal case has been initiated, and investigative actions are underway. The mufti sustained minor injuries and was sent home after undergoing medical examination.
The central mosque in northern Dushanbe is the largest in the country and can accommodate up to 180,000 people.
