Iranian MP: Russia's Desire to Create Zangezur Corridor is a ‘Backstab’
Iranian diplomacy will respond decisively to the recent statements of the Russian president in support of the Zangezur corridor. Iran's national interests are a red line that cannot be crossed. These remarks were made by Fadakhosein Maleki, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament.
Maleki noted, “Iranian diplomacy will respond decisively to the Russian president’s recent support for the ‘Zangezur corridor,’” highlighting that Iran's national interests are a red line that cannot be transgressed by any threats.
He labeled Russia's double standards in regional matters and the desire to create the Zangezur corridor as a “backstab,” which is absolutely unacceptable for Iran. Emphasizing Iran's undeniable role in fostering regional security and the vulnerabilities of negotiations between neighboring countries without Iran’s participation, the legislator stated that Tehran will demonstrate a “decisive response” if it is marginalized or if threats to its borders arise.
