Investigative Committee on the Police Officer's Murder in Nalbandyan Village
The Armenian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal proceeding regarding the shooting incident involving police officers in the village of Nalbandyan, Armavir Province, where shots were fired in a dangerous manner towards police employees performing their official duties. This resulted in the murder of one police officer and an attempted murder of another.
According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, the proceedings are based on the first and seventh points of the second part of Article 155 and the first and seventh points of the second part of Article 44-155 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the characteristics of the first part of Article 335.
An investigative team has been formed, and urgent investigative and procedural actions are being carried out to clarify all circumstances of the case. The scene has been inspected, and forensic examinations have been appointed for the corpse and other forensic investigations.
The identity of the individual who allegedly committed the crime has been established, and measures are being taken to locate him as well as the weapon used in the crime. The Investigative Committee of Armenia will provide further information on the current results of the preliminary investigation.
