Scandal: The Armenian Tricolor Appears to be Burning in the Mother Tongue Textbook

Users are circulating an image of the last page of the "Mother Tongue 3rd" textbook on various social media platforms, which seemingly depicts the Armenian flag burning. They have accused the authors of the book, launching derogatory remarks and insults against them.

The authors of the textbook clarified that the mentioned page has absolutely nothing to do with their presentation and have attached the version that was originally sent to the printer.

Karine Manukyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, stated that all electronic versions of the textbooks are also available on the "Textbook Circulation Foundation" page, where it is clearly shown that there is no image of a burning flag on the last page of the textbook.

Armen Martirosyan, director of "Antares Holding", which printed the textbook, commented on the controversial cover of the "Mother Tongue" 3rd-grade textbook in a conversation with ABC media. "As a printing organization, we have no right to intervene in the file, but we did not see that. We received the file as it is," said Martirosyan.

He also mentioned his great respect for the authors who entrusted him with the file. "I believe they did not notice that nuance; it is a slight error on the designer's part, which is not a crime. It happens to all of us, and the effects should not have been used here, but there is no malice - that has been proven," he noted.

To gain a clearer picture of the scandal, Auroranews reviewed the "Mother Tongue" 3rd-grade textbook. Indeed, the depiction on the last page gives the impression that the Armenian tricolor is burning.

By the way, the authors also released a photo, trying to prove that the information regarding the Armenian tricolor does not correspond to reality. However, it should be noted that the authors published an image of the last page of the second part of the Mother Tongue textbook, while the "burning" tricolor is depicted on the last page of the first part of the Mother Tongue textbook.

The Ministry of Education and Science has presented an electronic version of the textbook, where the Armenian tricolor is not burning.
