Group of Yandex Drivers Protests

A group of Yandex drivers has gathered in front of the government, protesting against a 1.5-2% fee. Some of them are currently being received by the government.

Starting from September 1, all types of taxi service providers, whether individual drivers or online platforms, will enter the tax system, meaning they must report to the state and pay taxes. According to the new regulations, all taxi drivers are required to provide passengers with electronic cash register receipts and pay taxes based on a fixed percentage for each order. If the order is paid in cash, a 2% tax will be charged based on the total fare, while a 1.5% tax will apply for card payments. For a 1,000-dram fare, the state tax will range from 15 to 20 drams. The percentages will gradually increase, reaching their final levels of 5% and 4% respectively by 2026.
