I Cannot Buy Forwards: Petrakov
Ahead of tomorrow's Nations League match between Armenia and Latvia, the head coach of our national team, Alexander Petrakov, addressed the lack of options for a central forward during a pre-match press conference.
"I am the head coach of the national team, and I cannot buy players. Yes, we have issues related to the central attacking position. We will see what solutions we can find regarding this issue in tomorrow's game. Today, we will also watch the youth team’s match. I hope that someone will emerge in that position in the near future.
To be honest, Ranoss is in average shape, and I have told him this. Of course, he has a great desire to play, and I advised him to change his club registration and once he gains playing practice, I will also provide him with a lot of playing time. Unfortunately, he has played only 41 minutes in 9 games. But he really wants to earn his place at his club," said Petrakov.
The captain of the Armenian national team, Varazdat Haroyan, also spoke at the pre-match press conference about the upcoming first match of Group 4 in Division C of the Nations League against Latvia, as reported by a FastNews correspondent.
"The Armenian national team has changed a lot; we neither overestimate nor underestimate our opponents. All teams can defend well, and it's harder to win now, but we have also changed a lot. Compared to the unsuccessful match against Latvia, there are players who haven't been called up. The coach has now favored the younger players who need to show what they are capable of. We will play the same football from a tactical standpoint, still with three defenders," mentioned the defender from the Chinese club 'Qindao West Coast'.
The Armenia - Latvia match will take place on September 7 at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium and will kick off at 20:00. Three days after this match, the team led by Alexander Petrakov will host the North Macedonian national team in Skopje. The Faroe Islands team is also included in Group 4 of Division C of the Nations League.
